About this Work Stream

This closed working session is restricted to lead authors and members of the ad hoc synthesis team. The focus is on reviewing and finalizing the text based on feedback received by Friday evening from the workstreams, as well as discussing next steps for the conference and beyond.

BIO

Dr Friedrich J Bohn investigates the future dynamics of ecosystems at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig. He also attends climate conferences as a scientific observer. He is also the co-founder of the Earth Resilience Institute (ERI). He is the scientific director of BAM! Bock auf Morgen, a consultancy that advises companies on sustainability. Dr. Bohn coordinates two international scientific initiatives that compile and synthesise the latest research findings and use them to support decision-makers. One of these initiatives developed a list of actionable insights for the Santa Marta Conference.

BIO

Frank Jotzo is Professor of Environmental Economics at the Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy, and director of the ANU Centre for Climate and Energy Policy. He leads research on decarbonisation, energy and industrial transition in its economic, trade and investment dimensions. Prof Jotzo has been in senior author roles with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (WGIII, AR5, AR6 incl Synthesis Report), contributes to a range of scientific review and policy advisory processes. He has advised several Australian governments, most recently the federal government on carbon leakage and border carbon adjustment.

Brief introduction: overview of feedback collected by Friday evening; facilitator explains the process

9:40–10:15

Walk through the Summary Doc: red flags are presented in turn, briefly discussed, and either resolved or flagged directly in the document

9:15–10:35

Finalize the supporting facts of the 12 insights

10:35–10:50

Short round of next steps during Santa Marta and beyond.

10:50–11:00

Collect all remaining issues and suggestions (e.g. on a shared list, whiteboard, or Miro board)

11:00–11:25

Structured discussion: for each point, quickly decide — into the Summary, into the Full Report, or out?

11:25–11:30

Check-in: is everyone aligned on the decisions made?

11:30–11:45

Implement last edits to the Summary Doc together (everyone follows along live)

11:45–12:10

Final edits to the Full Report; smaller corrections handled in parallel by breakout pairs

12:10–12:20

Final read-through: each participant takes one section for a last quick proofread

12:20–12:30

Formal sign-off, next steps for the conference and beyond, closing round
